install.php “not found”

Attempting the first install of WP on my host server: uploaded the whole thing at the root and can browse to …/wp-admin/ directory (shows like FTP, listing the install.php) but when I put in the full string https://www.me.com/wp-admin/install.php file ain’t found.
I thought I put in my MySQL parameters OK, but this “not found” I don’t get.
Any thoughts?
