  • In this case, the maintenance mode is probably not terminated because there was some error during the update. Such errors are sometimes caused by plugins or the active theme.

To stop the maintenance mode you have to log in via FTP and delete the file .maintenance. Your hosting support can tell you how to log in via FTP.

After that you have to see what the current status is. Maybe there is an error when calling the page. Then you should be able to find the cause in the error log of your hosting. Also here the support of your hoster can help you.

Update: the message I wrote above is now replaced by below:

A critical error has occurred on your website (I am translating from Turkish)

In this case your answer is the same?

What I wrote in the last section now comes true. You have an error that should be visible in the error log of your hosting. Depending on what is there, you can proceed further. You can also post what you see there so that they can help you with the analysis.

where is error log? I logged in to my hosting account cpanel and cannot see it.

The support of your hosting can certainly tell you best. Since every hosting is different, it is not possible to tell you here.
