I want to add an Instant Access button for a free PDF file on my web site but I want them to have to optin with their email address. How would I do this?

  • If you want to capture emails, why not use a form plugin? You can pick one which allows you to write an auto-reply message, in which you could include a link to your PDF file.

Let me know if any of the above needs clarification.

Thanks so much for answering my question !!! Please forgive my newness LOL. I now use feedburner for emails. I looked on their web site and could find no place to add this. Could you just include this on your message to sign up ? But then wouldn’t everyone get the download – is this what I want?

Ok, so you have PDF file, but you don’t want unrestricted downloads.
In order to get the PDF file, visitors have to sign up for what? newsletter? updates to the site?

If you want to collect emails for a newsletter, this plugin could work in conjunction with a contact form (only using email field).

(Note, I’ve never used this plugin, just see it claims to do what you need).

If you are using Feedburner, maybe have a read of this https://www.wpbeginner.com/opinion/stop-using-feedburner-move-to-feedburner-alternatives/

Thanks for all your help. I’m going to work on all this the next few days-so I may be back with more questions. LOL Thanks again for being so willing to share.

No problem. Did you find an alternative to Feedburner that works for you?
