• Just installed WordPress and, when attempting to login for the first time, I get the error: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” What is this? The server error log shows:

[Wed Oct 01 16:21:55 2008] [error] [client 10.11.8.118] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/html/wpblog/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 31, referer: https://hermes.sac.accd.edu/wpblog/wp-login.php

The server is running CentOS5 with Apache.

This is a single database with standard installation. I’ve removed the databases from MySql and the installed files and completely reinstalled the entire program from scratch. Installation went fine but when I try to logon as admin it displays a blank screen. The log has:
[Mon Oct 06 16:30:44 2008] [error] [client 10.11.8.118] PHP Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /var/www/html/wpblog/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 362, referer: https://10.11.2.64/wpblog/

I have exactly the same problem. There’s this script by Mark that seems to help – not for me.

I am using a single database with different prefix. But cleaning the DB, deleting all the files and reinstalling everything with standard-prefix didn’t work either.

Edit: Just tested an installation on a different server – the same problem.
