Insufficient permissions in Search Console

Thanks for reaching out @mercilesss. Based on your Search Console permissions error reappearing, I suspect that there may be something happening at Search Console level if others have access to the same property, or with your site verification if you had this site verified at Search Console level before you first connected Site Kit.

Another possibility is that your Search Console property protocoll (http/https) may differ to that connected within Site Kit. I say this as when inspecting your public REST Endpoints, it looks like you have mismatching URLs, one referencing your site as secure (https) and the other non-secure (http). See this screenshot.

To troubleshoot this further, please follow the steps below:

1. Visit your WordPress general settings page (Settings > General)
2. Temporarily switch both your “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” to https://a2b-cargo.com (with https)
3. Log back into your site if requested

Check your Site Kit dashboard after performing the above, and share whether you can see the dashboard without error. Should the same error remain, please share your Site Health information and we can check this further. We may need to go through the plugin setup once more in order to ensure the error no longer occurs now that you correct your site URLs.

Hi James, Thank you for the quick reply.

I did what u mentioned, and yes you were right, somehow those URLs were only http, instead of https. Fixed that and logged back in, the same error is still on my Dashboard. On another note, it says that i do not have the site verified. I tried verifying it with adding the TXT record to my Hosting Provider / Cloudflare but no luck.

Thanks for the update @mercilesss, and appreciate you sharing the additional insights. What we can try next is for Site Kit to verify ownership of your site. To do so, please try to disconnect your Google account from Site Kit, before connecting once more.

If the same occurs, please click on this link and then the gray “Verify your ownership” button.

All good and fixed now. But so was the last time, i have re-authorized maybe 3-4 times in the last 6 months, after a few weeks the same problem occurs.

Thanks for the update @mercilesss, happy to hear it. That is also very unusual regarding having to re-authorize Site Kit. Note that this may be different to verification with Search Console, as users can become disconnected from Site Kit for various reasons, such as their SALT keys changing. If you happen to encounter Search Console related issues, you may wish to check your verification method using the same link, to ensure that a HTML file is used. This should remain active as long as you have Site Kit active.
