Intall over very old version. Instructions somewhere?

I’m trying to update a very old install. I attempted to update before but failed, so I gave up after pulling out too much hair.

Clearly, I need to try again. There is not an easy “update link” at this site, like the other blog that I upgraded successfully last week.

I’ve just (ftped) downloaded and uploaded the latest version folder into the root directory of this site, that folder has a different name than the current, live install.

I have a recent backup of the database in the event of disasters, which I fully expect. I have the database information at hand.

I don’t remember where instructions are located. I’ll probably be back for more troubleshooting help after I give this a go.

Can you point me to instructions?
