Integrate with Filterable Portfolio?

The theme is using different approach to sorting the posts.
Normally, this plugin is compatible with any theme, it is depend on how you want to integrate the plugin into the theme.

Ideally would like to have a similar live search results as seen here; https://codecanyon.net/item/taxonomies-filter-widget/full_screen_preview/4282257 – but with the transition seen within the theme. Have not been able to find another plugin that has checkboxes for filtering.
