• I’m sure this has come up before, but a few searches didn’t produce anything that helped, so here we go:

I’m in the process of splitting up my blog and my wife’s blog. Currently, we’re just set up as two users in the same WP blog, and I’m going to be re-importing into a new database with different prefixes/installations — That shouldn’t be terribly difficult.

Now, when it’s done, our respective blogs will be located at subdomains of the current blog domain. When this is done, I’d like the main domain to display the most recent entry in each blog (now two separate prefixes, but still one DB), but I’m not sure how to configure that in wordpress. Anyone deal with that kind of issue before?

  • I haven’ tried it, but what about creating two new installs of wp- yours and hers. Then, on the main one, add RSS feeds from each blog to the main blog’s post?

Or find a way to create just an html page as a splash page, with rss feeds embedded into the page.

Just a couple of thoughts that popped into my head.

That’s kind of the thought process I was going through.

Again, if there are any integrated WP ways of doing this, I’m all ears.. but the RSS path is probably what I’ll be testing.

    Thanks for the reply, hilltop!

You want to use this technique:

You may be able to use magpie to call in the rss stuff, if you can’t just use the above thread to do what you need.
