Integrating WMD-editor into WordPress

  • Hi, I’m a relative newbie to WP (thougb I’ve picked up the basics of templating and plugins in a couple of days). I’ve been looking for a good WYSIWYG editor for ages, especially since using WordPress. I don’t like Tiny/FCK and other RTEs for various reasons.

    I came across “WMD editor” which uses very light markup and has an instant preview feature – see https://wmd-editor.com/examples/splitscreen. I like this because it keeps the code simple, clean and semantic.

    Has anyone converted this to a plugin? (There isn’t anything on www.ads-software.com.) How simple would it be to replace the editor with what’s on the page above, and on submit pass the HTML output (from the right column) through to WP?
