Integration with Event List shows wrong date

I am trying to show events from Event List with Full Calendar.

I am using the shortcode [fullcalendar type=”el_events”] but this displays events on the date they were created not the date they are scheduled to start. How can I display events on their scheduled date/time?

Also, how do I filter which events are shown in the calendar? The following does not filter out other events:
[fullcalendar type=”el_events” el_eventcategory=”family”]
