• Hi everyone,

    Need some troubleshooting help.

Since about 1-2 months ago, I’ve been getting intermittent error 404s while navigating throughout the wp-admin pages. Further, the functions of certain plugins became unstable.

Last week, when I tried to add a new menu, I kept on getting an error 404 when trying to save the new menu, and this time the error 404 is occuring 100% of the time.

I initially suspected a server side resource limiter issue, however I contacted my host support and they boosted the resources to check, and the issues recurred without the resource limits being hit.

They are now suspecting a theme or plugin issue. Is this something that anyone has heard about? I’m wondering whether a theme or plugin issue could cause such a major issue affecting all aspects of the wp-admin area.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate all help with this!

  • Hello, theHungryGeek, & welcome. Please don’t eat me. It’d really be helpful if we knew the url of your site. I’m suspecting thehungrygeek.com, but, you know what you do when you assume.

Can you please go into PhpMyAdmin or ask your hosting provider in order to determine the size of your database? I’ve seen this before when databases get too large. If that’s not it, then of course there are other things we can try. Looking forward to your reply.

    Yes the URL is correct.

The size of the primary database is about 100 MB.
