intermittent paypal ipn notifications

    I am having an issue with orders. I am either getting single or duplicate new order emails.

    Looking at the order notes I will see IPN and PDT notes for duplicate emails. For single notifications I am getting either IPN or PDT. This means that sometimes one or the other fails.

    With the current setup I should always have duplicate emails, as both IPN and PDT are enabled. I am not sure how to determine what is causing either the IPN of PDT to fail.

    things I have checked:
    primary email address in woocommerce and paypal is the same
    fsockopen/cURL is open
    enabled logging, but not sure what to look for

    using stablehost and a lightspeed server

    any help would be grateful.

    Hey there!

    IPN and PDT are not meant to operate together, but they are replacements for each other.

    I typically recommend using PDT, as it typically is a bit more stable and reliable on servers than IPN. You should turn off one of them, and only use the one.
