Intermittent responder email failure

I started using WP 5.5 auto-update feature. Not long after that customers complained intermittently that email responders were not arriving as expected. Sendgrid seems to be working OK. I have disabled the auto-update feature but I would like to know if this behavior of Caldera Forms is expected or reported elsewhere?
