Hi @eimaste, thanks for reporting the issue.
How are you adding the footnotes? (I’m guessing with a plugin, in which case, which?) That will affect how to resolve the issue.

    hello,

we dont use a plugin, these are the footnotes from office programs, not really sure which exactly. it looks pretty simple internal links. a couple examples:

Thanks for the info and links.
I see the problem happening, too, but not in every web browser.
When I use Firefox, I see the problem you described: the footnotes instead link back to your website’s print page. I notice that also when printing directly from your website without using Print My Blog (PMB)’s print buttons or anything. So I believe it’s an issue with Firefox.
In contrast, when I use Google Chrome or Print My Blog’s Pro PDF Service, the footnote hyperlinks work as hoped: they link to the appropriate place in the same document (not back to the website).
I haven’t tested other web browsers.
Now, for a solution, it depends on what you’re wanting to do. Do you want to let site visitors print individual posts? Or do you want to get a few PDFs of a few posts so saving or sharing? Or do you want to combine multiple posts into a single PDF for sharing?

Also, here’s my test PDFs I created for comparison:
Firefox: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phdoPemikKmmW2oZ?e=VHvaMG (footnotes link to my local test site)
Google Chrome: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phjJCb-Blk-j9r_I?e=xci66s (footnotes link to other parts of the document)
PMB Pro PDF Service: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phVJ-bI0aBLpAKsg?e=od3leS (footnotes link to other parts of the document)

    hey,

the website contains articles from a magazine, with a new issue every year.
our goal is to create a pdf with all the articles for each issue.

just tested on chrome, and it works, the links are internal, but there is another problem. all footnotes are mixed up, so if you press the first footnote on the second article, you are sent to the note in the first article, since we have a unified form and not different names.
so the internal links are not mapped to their post but to the pdf in general.

maybe a workaround could be to have an option to negate all internal links? in pdf, maybe its not so much needed for the footnotes to be active.

we tried all these with digital pdf. for this issue, we can go with paper pdf.
we mark it as resolved and maybe consider it for a feauture request?

Hi @eimaste, thanks for the added description of what you’re doing.
I understand that if you add multiple posts to the same PDF, then the footnote hyperlinks get confused because they’re assumed to be on separate pages.
The quickfix you suggested is currently available: in both PMB’s Quick Print and Pro Print you can completely remove hyperlinks.
In Quick Print, click “Show More Print Options”, scroll down to “Include Hyperlinks” and select “Remove”. (See https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phnHNfAA2pedOeA1?e=geKpkW)
In Pro Print, most designs support removing hyperlinks (at least the Classic ones do). To remove hyperlinks in those designs, go to the design’s “Customize Design” step (see https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phx3AZt4WLPolIwU?e=SkAVpC), then scroll down to “Link, Page Reference, and Footnote Settings” and set “Internal Hyperlinks” to “Remove” (see https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuMAO_Xs0t43phtol1-pu4k2FYns?e=TvggiZ) and save.
In the future, Pro Print could make hyperlinks work how you like, but that might be a week or two to develop and test. Would that be of much use to you? Or are you just happy removing the hyperlinks?

hello, for now probably is for the best to just remove all hyperlinks. we wait confirmation from our client for this.
in general, we’d think that it would be a good feauture to have. but dont spend a couple weeks just for us. we print once per year ??

    thanx for your time
