    Hello,

I have some pages which have an internal server error only when YOAST SEO is active. In my last post I thought it works again. But: The problem is back again, on many websites. But not all the time.

If a user clicks faster on menu buttons or in the backend, an “Internal Error” occurs. It only happens on one hosting service system, but not on every website. And not all the time. All my websites are using different themes (I can’t identify a combination of errors and themes/plugins, the themes are used with errors are: Neve, Susa, TwentyTwenty, OceanWP…)

I always use Autoptimize, in my opinion it could be part of the problem. It seems to happen, when the cache is filled. It never happens after cleaned cache.

    Can this be a conflict?

    Best regards
    JWH

    PHP is 7.4.9.

    Hello Pcosta88,

    here are my answers:

    1) I am using WP Core 5.5
    2) The error doesn’t occurs when I disable or delete YOAST SEO
    3) It is the actual stable version of YOAST SEO. It is Version 14.7
    4) I used PHP 7.4.9, the error occurs. I changed to 7.3.21, everything is fine
    5) Checked without other Plugins, checked with Theme Twentytwenty: Internal Server error

I can send you a report from the Health-Check, but not in the forum. Is it possible per E-Mail?

    Hi,

It’s strange that you are still getting an internal server error with only a default WP theme such as TwentyTwenty and only the Yoast SEO v14.7 plugin enabled. We’d need to investigate further, but we are unable to do so over these forums.

Perhaps you would consider a Yoast SEO for WordPress Premium subscription, which comes with 1 year of updates and support, so we can offer premium personal support over email so we can try and take a look at this further — https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

    Hi Michael Tina,

for my case it is not a problem: I change to PHP 7.3.21. I can send you more information (I did some effort to analyze…), but for me it is okay. Please let me know, if you are interested in the Health-Check-report, if not, I delete it.

    Best regards

@jwhberlin Thanks for your reply. The issue was likely related to something specific to your PHP environment when using 7.4.9.

The ‘Connection reset by peer/mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server’ error can sometimes be caused when the value for max_execution_time in your PHP environment is set to low, and it’s limit is being reached. These limitations will be specific to your site’s PHP configuration and php.ini file though.
