    I’m getting a page displaying “Internal Server Error” when I try to access Chron Events via the on the Tools Menu and also via the ‘Chron Events’ link on the list of installed Plugins.

    Can you take a look in the PHP error log to see what the error is please?

    Firstly, thank you for your reply and sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
    I’m a novice at this and it took ages to get the PHP error log configured.

    Having got it sorted (I think), the PHP error log is still empty after the error occurs. I’m pretty sure that I’ve got the log configured properly as the ‘PHP Error Log’ plugin manages to locate it and doesn’t report any inconsistent read/write permissions.

    The full error message is as follows:

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Unfortunately there’s not a lot that can be done without the specific error message. The “Internal Server Error” message is a generic one.

    You should speak to your web host about why your error log doesn’t contain anything. They’ll usually be happy to look into it.

    Thanks for your response.

    I’m delighted to say that, fortunately, the error resolved itself when I upgraded from PHP 5.3.3 to PHP 5.4.34.

    Still need to sort out why the error log is empty though.
