• I had a thread running but stopped receiving answers and thought maybe it was because I posted additional information before receiving responses. So I am sorry if I was supposed to continue my previous thread.

The links going into my blog are not working. The main page is up and looks correct but I cannot get anywhere from there.

I just move to a new host and changed to a new domain.
I went through phpMyAdmin to search and replace instances of my old url and made the additional changes when the character count of each url was included right before the url. But that did not change the problem.

So what else might be going on?

    Okay I got it.

I just went back and trie dto view other articles after creating the test post. Aparently creating the test post jumpstarted the restructuring of the urls.

But ther emust be more to it. I then decided to try changing the structure to this /%year%/%category%/%postname% thinking that having it start with a number would be okay–after reading Otto’s permalink post.
I saved that change and all the permalinks updated automatically. But like the previous strucutre they got an http 404 error.

Si I returned it to the default. As before with going to default it di not update automatically and I got it updated with another test post–now deleted.

So I have solved the issue. Though I will continue to read about permalink structures in the wordpress tutorial and Otto’s article. But I know how to get back to functional now.

    Thanks
