• I just downloaded and installed your great product!

    I am running a worldwide radio station in Turkish. Most of the listeners are in Turkey, but some are in the USA, Europe and Australia.

    A few issues:

    1- I translated the day of the weeks, it seems to work, except “Today’s Program”, which I think I should spend more time on.
    Basically I translated/changed all recurrences of the week of the day, including the DB. If you can suggest an easier approach, you are welcome!

    2- The server’s time is Istanbul (Turkey) time and 24 hour format, it was already configured like this and Joan works.
    I entered the program times with their Turkish day and time.

    However, the times are displayed (as well stored in the DB) are US format with 12 hour am-pm.
    How can I display the European 24h format? (also see the next question)

    3- I am based in the USA, my local computer time is in US time (PDT) but still display the original day & time stored in the DB, meaning Istanbul time. Is there a way to display the local US time and format for the programs? (-10 hours difference between PDT and TSI)

    The ideal is, all listeners should see the programs displayed in their local day and time settings.

    4- Some Turkish characters are not stored in the DB. The WordPress is Turkish, all characters work in WordPress pages except in Joan.
    For your information, beside some European characters like ?,?,ü some special characters are used in Turkish:

    * ? and ? (upper and lower case G with a tilde on top)
    * ? (upper case I with a dot)
    * ? (lower case i without a dot)
    * ? and ? (upper and lower case S with a cedilla)

    Thanks in advance.

    1- Sorry I don’t have a better solution for translating at this time, this is my first plugin and I haven’t had time look at the plugin translation docs.

    2-Joan requires 24hr clock in WordPress to work, it only displays the schedule in 12hr format that’s because most users clocks are set to 12hr format.

    3-Joan will use the city timezone set in WordPress to show the schedule and what’s on, a listener in Turkey will see the schedule based on their computer’s timezone. Maybe in a future update we can make the timezone auto adjust for wherever the user is, but no promises.

    4- That’s because Joan was not written translation ready, sorry see answer to #1 above.

    Hello

    I been try this plugin out as well for a local radiostation.
    You have any plans to make it;

    timezone compatible by choice? (AM/PM/24H)
    Translate by choice

    I think it’s a really good plugin, and many stations can have big use for it

    Yes later in the year that will be done, this latest release was more of a compatibility fix than a major upgrade we’re looking at all feature requests closely.

    Great, looking forward for this, if you need help, pls tell me.
    ([email protected])

    We use this on a local radiostation “live” now and all of us is looking forward for this upgrade.
    I been thinking of re-write your plugin, but since you are “on it” i will wait on upgrade with excitement (Y)
    We also have some “snippit” code that you might be able to “put in” as well, many stations today use a “pickup” from a txt file of what song that is played at the moment (Ajax in backgrund for “refresh”), can be some for you as well?
    I been try to find some good plugin for this, but there is none.. (I’m a bit lacy as you see, better to put this in to some existing then to write a new ?? )
    I think this can be good for you, then you have “it all”

    Sincerely
    Tyrone

    We use the same on our stations but sure we’d like to see your code/implementation so feel free to email it to us. support[@]ganddservices.com

    Thanks
