I’m having problems getting this plugin translated to Danish.

    I bought PoEdit.
    Translated the 100+ lines.
    Created two local files:
    genesis-author-pro-da_DK.po
    genesis-author-pro-da_DK.mo
Uploaded the 2 files to the ‘languages’-folder of the Genesis Author Pro folder next to the existing “genesis-author-pro.pot”

The archives pages as well as the single pages of the plugin (like /book-author/<author-name>/ and /book/<book-title>/) all keep talking English to me. No translation of “Author”, “Publisher” etc.

I thought that perhaps installing the latest Author Pro theme v1.1 would help. But this doesn’t seem to do any good.

    To add to my frustration:

When I add a date like “1-1-2014” in publ. date and save, the backend field change to the correct Danish form “1. januar 2014”, which is fine … until I save the record next time, at which time the field is emptied. Probably because the Danish form is not valid.

This makes it quite hard to work with, as you can probably understand.

How do I get past these obstacles.

Nick the Geek mentioned a year ago that full internationalization was due “very soon”. I’m not sure this has happened yet.

    Or am I missing something?

Update: Nick Cernis’ github-dev-version mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/spanish-translation-does-not-work?replies=3
seems to do the trick for me so far. Thanx to Nick for that! But it’s not an official release, and it would still be really nice with a status on the plans for an official, stable update.

    Hi,

I’m also needing assistance in trying to get this plug-in translated to Danish. I was able to go in and change all of the code myself, except for the “Published” label.

As you can see here: https://www.cautious.dk/book/de-7-synder/

I figured I could go in and change out the words but then realized that the “published” has a little more coding to it than the other labels… I thought I made al the necessary changes to it to display the danish word for Published: “Udgivelsesdato”…. but apparently not.

If you have any suggestions on how to fixed this one thing… I’d appreciate it.

I’m not comfortable with my knowledge of coding, typicaly I stick with branding and have a developer friend help… but they’re unavailable and I’m desperate for some help.

    help?

@brandimarie88 I replied to your post at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/translation-assistance-2, but please feel free to follow up there if you need further help with this!

noting that the fixes for translation have just been released for version 1.0 so you should be able to build your translation using .po/mo files correctly.
