    Hi

    Nice theme.

The Revolution slider I’m using aside, am I to expect Tiny Forge’s homepage widgets to view correctly in IE8 because I can’t seem to make it so. I can’t get Twenty Twelve to work for that matter either.

    Thx

    Hi, Scot,

    beautiful implementation!

All compatibility features came with 2012 and I trust WP guys to make this call. It is not an easy decision though.

On top of 2012 I made some more adjustments to push it even further to HTML5 side, because that’s where the future is, so with this in mind we should understand, that IE8 compatibility is in place, but it would be very hard to achieve 100% correct look of a website.

On a positive note, the prospective clients of your project (students) most likely will have decent web browsers ??

If you will improve compatibility, please let me know, so I could port changes to the theme or perhaps even push it up to 2012.

    Tomas

This child theme seems to have fixed various IE issues. Might want to check it out for Tiny Forge.

There was a newer version, but it was not approved because of footer widget problems and other issues, it looks that author pulled it from WP.org:

Scot, also, could you describe exact problems that you had, or perhaps even provide a screen shot, because currently I’m testing it on IE11 in IE7 view mode and everything looks OK to me, at least with standard widgets. There are some issues with footer widgets that I will try to fix, but Front Page widgets look pretty good:

Interesting, I just discovered that IE7 renders Front Page widgets correctly, but IE8 NOT! ??

Digging further and trying to fix the issue.

Like I say, grab the CSS for IE8 in that theme and it fixes the issue.

Right, I will push fix with next update and submit upstream patch to 2012.

    Thank you for your help!
