• The prologue:
After making the site live, and several people registering and adding posts, etc we were attacked by spammers. I deleted the posts, and added the culprits to the blacklist – luckily the posts were not live and I was able to contain it. Any way I then added the Askimet plugin to avoid further incidents. After having the problem with IE I removed the Askimet plugin.

    The problem:
After adding the plug in the home page did not load properley in Internet Explorer. So I have removed the plug in thinking it may have been that but to no avail, it will still not display the home page properly in IE. I personally use Firefox but I accept that others want to use IE and so I need this site’s blog to display properly (especially as I made it for a third party.)

    Any ideas?

  • Your blog has bad code from copy and pasting from Microsoft Word. For more info and fixes, see:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/215124

My site displays fine in FireFox, but the static page content doesn’t display at all in IE.

I tried pasting copy from Word, using the Advanced WP Editor, but that didn’t work either. Also tried pasting from both Wordpad & Notepaad, but both of them changed the font from ARiel 12 to Verdana 10.

As far as I can tell, there is no font edit feature in the WP Advanced Editor.

So, I restored the previous page version (great feature, btw!)

I realize I need to fix the sidebars, but any comments on this are appreciated as to how to get the page content to display in IE.

    Site is: https://www.parkinsonsmedications.net

    Thanks.

… and come to talk about it, how DO I remove the duplicate permalinks from one of the sidebars?

My intention is to use one of the columns for AdSense, eventually.

It won’t display properly in IE until the bad Word code is removed. If you want to edit and style posts offline, look into using a blog client like Windows Live Writer:

    Iridiax,

I tried Qumana, but realized it is designed to publish new POSTS only to WP.

I want to publish PAGES (not posts) to my site.

I’m happy to compose offline, and then cut & paste into WP online, although an editor that would allow publishing pages would be nice… but, it obviously has to show up in IE.

    Any suggestions?

Use a text editor – not a word processing application – and carry out all of your formatting and image insertion online within WordPress.

    esmi,

Notepad is a text editor and, as I posted above, I have tried it & no joy.

    Other suggestions?

I am having the same problem in IE.
