• Hi there,

I just started using WordPress. I noticed that the theme I downloaded looks great in Firefox but that the side bar drops when I view the site in IE. This happens with the original version of the theme and with my modifications. I have noticed, however, that when I click on my “Bio” page, the sidebar looks fine in IE.

I really have no clue where to look to find the error as I have no expertise with this stuff at all. I would appreciate any help you guys could offer!

    Thank you:)

  • Well, you don’t really need any “expertise” with this, except the expertise to type in a search box ??
Try “sidebar down IE” – and you will see hundreds of similar posts… all pointing to the same problem: something is too wide in a container element.

    Moshu,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been searching and, like you, most say there’s something too wide or that div tags might be to blame. I guess I just don’t know where to look for those things. I don’t know what to change and where. I will keep searching.

    Thanks

Before everything else I’d look into this:

    Hi Moshu,

I followed your suggestion and resized some things and something worked because it looks okay now in both browsers. I just hope some little thing doesn’t throw it off again!

    I appreciate your help:)
