    I was doing an automatic upgrade to 3.1.1 and the connection was interrupted… Ugghhh… and then I received the message:

    “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”
    and I could not access the admin panel or anything or attempt continue the upgrade.

    I did some reading and deleted the .maintenance file and now I am getting:

    “Call to undefined function require_wp_db()”

    Arrgghhh!

    Does someone have a clue?

    I am running this on a Dreamhost account and I have FTP access….

    I figured it out. I backed up some of my old files.

    I downloaded WordPress 3.1.1 and uploaded the admin and includes and the root files and it finished the update!

    Crazy! I think I pooped my pants!!!

    All is good it seems. =)
