interval_count does not work in short code

Hello,
I am using the following code:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[gcal id="123" interval="events" interval_count="3" display="list" paging="false"]'); ?>
Everything is working except the frontend displays 5 events instead of 3. I have tried this using offset_interval_count=”1″ and then interval_count seems to work and 3 events are displayed. But I don’t want to display past events. You can see the feed here – https://academicaffairs.risd.edu/ Help would be much appreciated.
