First of all, thank you for making this plugin. We use it and it’s great.

BUT, the new donation pop-up is super, super annoying. I understand wanting to be rewarded monetarily for your efforts, but having this pop-up appear on every single screen in the backend is a bit too much. Actually, I don’t even mind to be completely honest, but what I cannot stand is that this appears for EVERY SINGLE LEVEL OF USER on our site. So, if someone has minimal access to the backend, they will still see this pop up and they have no idea what “Optin Forms” is and then every single user will have to click something to close that box. It’s just confusing and frustrating for them, and anyone who has basic membership/multi-author functionality on their site.

At the most, I’d love it so the pop-up only appears on the dashboard for admins.

At the very, very least, please restrict this popup to appear to ONLY admins of the site (the people that deal with plugins) and not every single level of user who doesn’t even know what plugins are.

    Thank you.

  • Hi tjc-thomas,

Thank you for your input. I have just released a new version of the plugin, which will restrict the notice to admins only, so other users will not see the box.

Also, I’d like to point out that you can easily close the box by clicking on “I don’t want to support further development” and clicking on “Close this box” option.

Boris, thank you so much. I didn’t mean to come off as rude so I hope I didn’t, but it was just alarming at the time to get messages from non-admins asking me what that was. Thank you for your really quick response. I’ll keep on using your great plugin.

    Thomas,

not a problem, you didn’t come off as rude at all ??

The initial thought process behind the box is that every user can click it away and hide it forever. However, I failed to take into consideration that certain users (like subscribers and contributors) have nothing to do with managing plugins.

    All fixed now ??
