    Hi

This seems like an awesome plugin, but I just installed it and tested a new user registration. The registration and notification went sent fine as well as the registration itself, however, on the front end, the following code appeared at the top of the browser (chrome) which is not good. Where I get fearful of using this (and have no choice but to deactivate till you have a chance to get back to me) is that I have Debug turned off which I thought made coding errors like this not able to show up, but this seems like it could be broken somewhere?

I know this is free, but please, if you have a chance soon to let me know a solution, I very much thank you for it. Like I said, this seems like a fantastic plugin and you’ve done excellent work so far, just need to get this one issue resolved. Thank you so much! Have a great day!

    Hi mrhocs,
    Thanks for your message.

Yes, that is true – having wp_debug turned off in wp-config.php shouldn’t show these kinds of errors. It’s possible another plugin is enabling it instead as some have a debug function in their settings. It’s worth checking through the settings for any other plugins that you have enabled to see if this is the case. Alternatively, try disabling all plugins except for BNFW, logging out, clearing your browser cache and trying again. Additionally, a theme could be introducing this setting too.

If you could check these two things and get back to me on whether the errors have gone, that would be great and we can troubleshoot further is necessary.

In the meantime, i’ll make a note to ensure that those warnings are fixed regardless.

    Hi Jack

Sounds great. Thank you. I’ll work on setting up a test site and turn off plugins and also look for the possible debug settings options as well and keep you updated on the outcome.

If by chance you put out an undated plugin to hide the errors before I get back to you (shouldn’t be longer than today-3 days out max, could you let me know (if possible)?

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Talk to you soon. Have a great day!

Thanks, I’m not sure it will as the next release is almost done anyway. Should be out next week after some testing.

Let me know if you find anything.

Do you know which notification you created right before the errors on the front-end were shown? Alternatively, do you know which notification(s) might be causing the issue?

    (@mrhocs)

Yup – When I set up a notification for a New User Registration. That actually is the only one I had set up.

I did set it up to send to a specific user, as opposed to a specific role – not sure if that may have a barring or not, but thought I’d pass that onto you as well.

    Thanks, that’s very helpful.
I’ll take a look into it shortly.

    Sounds great! Thank you! ??

Would you still like for me to run testing on my end today/tomorrow and try to see if there is any plugin in particular that conflicts with yours?

    Plugin Author bnfw

    (@voltronik)

That would be great if you could. I suspect this is the cause as there’s nothing that really should be causing wp_debug to output anything unless something else is switching it on. Most likely in a theme or plugin

Thanks for your help in debugging this.

Ok – Sounds great, will do. Thank you as well for all your help. I’ll keep you updated and let you know what I find out.

    Good morning

I tested everything (plugins, themes, plugin settings). There is only one plugin interfering that I could figure out and it’s one that creates it’s own registration/login pages.

    The plugin is: https://codecanyon.net/item/user-profiles-made-easy-wordpress-plugin/4109874

Within the plugin itself, there are no debug settings, so I’m unsure why it’s outputting that information. I’m wondering if it’s more of a conflict of some sort as opposed to displaying debug info.

What’s your email? I can send more info.

    Thanks!

Thanks, think we’ve found the issue now.
It might have had something to do with a user role that didn’t have any capabilities.

A fix will be in the next release.

Sounds great! Thank you for looking into it.

I’ll let you know the result on my end once the update is released.

    Enjoy your Sunday! ??

This is now fixed in the latest release, due out in the next week.
    Marking as resolved.

That’s great to hear! Thank you so much for your dedication to your awesome plugin.

I haven’t seen any donation info or premium version. You’ll have to let me know if you’re coming out with anything, I’d support it. Not sure if you’re looking to get anything out of your plugin or not. ??

    Thanks!
There are plans in the pipeline to do some add-ons here and there for enhanced functionality to those that need it but they’ll be some months off at least yet.

    Keep your eyes pealed!
