Invalid credit cards

Hi there,
I’ve been running the Eway plugin for about a month now and all transaction are processed correctly with no issues.
My problem is when a customer enters the wrong credit details by mistake. For example if I put my credit card details as 1122 3344 5566 7788 or other made up details and hit Pay, I don’t get ANY message to say that the credit card details are invalid. This means that when a customer enters even just a wrong digit at checkout, they don’t get ANY alert.
I can tell by looking at the status of orders that at least 3 customers ran into that issue and left the shop altogether (as a result the order is left as Pending).I rang Eway support 2 days ago and they said it’s nothing to do with them, it’s to do with Woocommerce checking the credit card details against an algorithm before they send the details through to Eway: if the credit card details don’t match the algorithm the customer should be notified though!
I tried disabling all plugins apart for woocommerce and eway, no luck.
