Invalid Data 1

    Hi all,

    I’ve been having trouble with polls not allowing guest users to vote, as whenever a guest votes they’re given the message “invalid data 1.” When someone is signed into the site the poll will work just fine.
    Screenshot of the issue here.

    This seems to be the same issue as this previous post, which never seemed to be resolved. The temporary fix mentioned in the post works – has anyone found a permanent solution?

    Hey Ethan

    This seems to be happening with cached pages.

    Can you edit your poll and on Options->Poll tab set “Load using AJAX” to yes?
    Once done, clear your website cache.

    Please let us know if this fixes the issue.

    That seems to have worked, thank you!

    Hello, I am having the same issue and have discovered that the “invalid data 1” message is showing up for *mobile* guest users. The same people tried the poll on their desktop computer and it worked fine. I tried the fix above but the mobile users are still getting the error. Any other suggestions? This is urgent so appreciate any fast help you can give, thanks so much!!

    Setting the poll to load via ajax and clearing cache should fix this issue.

    Could you send a link to your poll so we can run a test?

    Got it. Setting both to “yes” for AJAX and clearing my cache.

    Done, you can go ahead and test it again!

    it doesn’t look like cache was cleared.

    I looked at the source code and poll still seems to load regulary.

    is there a different cache you need to empty maybe?

    Oh gosh I totally misunderstood and cleared my browser cache, lol. Just cleared out my website cache and it’s working! Thank you so much.
