Invalid Date Format

I’m getting invalid date format on the following field:

[date move-in-date date-format:mm-dd-yy placeholder “Move in Date”]

The date selector works fine, and the date displays properly in the field once selected, but this error is triggered every time: Invalid Date Format

Any reason why this is?
