Hello guys! Ho are you doing? Happy new year to everyone ??

Well, we have an issue: we’re trying to upload EAN codes to our products, using the plugin.. we’ve tried with EAN-13 and 8, but still.. after we save the product with the EAN Code updated, it throws this message: “Invalid EAN” – check the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/M1f1-hnwqFVe

Any ideas of what could be happening? Thank you.

  • Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out.

After reviewing the provided screenshot, it appears that the EAN code “9031101” is not a valid EAN-13 or EAN-8.

EAN-13 should consist of 13 digits, while EAN-8 should have 8 digits. The code you provided has only 7 digits, which is causing the system to flag it as an “Invalid EAN.”

To resolve this issue, please ensure that the EAN codes you are trying to upload meet the standard EAN-13 or EAN-8 format.

    Kind regards.

Thank you for your answer Moshtafizur

Well, still the issue continues, check it out: https://prnt.sc/iImGntYHVetp – we have tried with 13 characters, and 8.. and it stills shows the INVALID CODE message, what could be happening in your opinion?

any idea why half of the products would have good EAN #’s and the second half have only 3 digits and are red?

    Hi @whooo,

Sorry for such a late reply.

The “1231231231231” is not a valid EAN for the following reasons:

    1. Invalid Country Code: The first two or three digits of an EAN represent the country code. While “123” could potentially be a valid country code, it is not assigned to any country in the official EAN registry.
    2. Check Digit Mismatch: Even if we assume “123” is a valid country code, the remaining digits (12312312312) do not produce a correct check digit according to the EAN-13 calculation algorithm. Therefore, the number is not a valid EAN-13.

I would suggest you run our “Tools > Generate EAN for all products” tool. It will generate random but valid EANs for your products.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @mfghost,

In such a case, I would suggest you delete EANs by our “Tools > Order Tools > Delete” tool. Then?run the “Tools > Generate EAN for all products” tool again.

Please give it a try. Let me know if you have any questions.

i mean by 3 digits it’s just “256” in red. Most of the products have a number now but about 10 or 12 just have the 3 digit 4ed number. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared the cache, purged everything, used the tools in the plugging but the same products just won’t have a number that works.
