I get the following error message when i try to sync my products with google merchant with the “google listings and ads”-plugin: “Product image “Sortiment-84-Alkoholfrei.png” is not a valid name [image]”.

I don’t really get why the image name would be important. The format is correct in .png. I also can’t really find anything related in the websearch nor here in the forum. The only google help topic is regarding the error “Invalid file” not “invalid image: invalid link”.

    Hi @kuntz,

The error message you see is likely due to Google’s specific guidelines for image names in their Merchant Center. While the image format (.png) is correct, Google may still reject the image if the name doesn’t adhere to their rules.

The image name “Sortiment-84-Alkoholfrei.png” might be flagged as invalid due to its length, special characters, restricted words, or non-English words. Google prefers short, simple, and descriptive image names. Try renaming your image to something simpler and shorter, like “Product84.png”, and then re-upload it.

Let us know how that goes. Thanks!

    Hi @shameemreza,

thanks for the quick reply. I tried “alpakawine” and also “product13” with another product. Both didn’t work aswell. Don’t really know what else to try.

    Hey, @kuntz!

Just to confirm, the images with the new name were still .png, right?

Have you checked the guide we shared above to make sure everything is according to the guidelines?

Are you having issues with other images, or just this one?

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @carolm29 ,

i’m having issues with every single product. I couldn’t synchronise even one.

Here is the system status code: https://gist.github.com/Eliqui/f9fd53643c31cad4a7cf81d3f1ad687d

Here is the error report: https://gist.github.com/Eliqui/7d11dfeff7e7e8b8f86201355fc6d032

I just updated the Picture name which is now called “alpakawine.png” (so you can find it in the log).

Here there’s also a link to the actual picture i’m using, so you can see if I’m missing something. But as far as i go the image should meet Google’s criteria: https://www.weingutkuntz.de/wp-content/uploads/alpakawine.png

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this, @kuntz.

Let’s take a look at how the plugin’s settings screen looks. It can be found from?Marketing > Google Listings & Ads?in WP Admin, under Settings (from the tabs up-top). Could you send us a screenshot of that screen, also, please?

While inspecting the site’s System Status Report (SSR), I noticed some values are currently low. My suggestion would be to make sure the following values are set, as a minimum. The site’s PHP time limit set to 300, PHP Post Max at 1000 and the WP Memory limit at 256 MB.

I hope that helps! Let us know how it goes.

@anastas10s my accounts are all linked if you meant that.

WordPress.com, Google, Google Merchant Center and Google Ads. I also verified my phone number and put in a valid address.

    ?? hey @kuntz

WordPress.com, Google, Google Merchant Center and Google Ads. I also verified my phone number and put in a valid address.

Sounds good. As a next step, I’d strongly recommend making sure the server configuration meets the settings mentioned here, and proceeding with a?conflict test, as detailed here. For context, currently in the site’s System Status Report (SSR) there appear all sorts of image manipulation, and type plugins, along with custom ones. We’d need to isolate the issue further, in order to find the culprit.

I trust that points you in the right direction. Let us know how it goes!

Once I hear back from you, I will be happy to investigate this further.
