[ Moved to the Fixing WordPress sub-forum. ]

Just yesterday I noticed that I was unable to submit my links to Google+. I haven’t had these issues before so, I need assistance to get my site working correctly for sharing articles to Google +

When submitting my website links from www.sahmplus.com – any post being submitted to Google+, whether through a share button or manually, I get the error “link is invalid”.

    What I’ve tried:
Removed a plug-in (MiloTree) I installed the day before this problem – that did not resolve the issue.

Checked my settings in WordFence to make sure it wasn’t telling Google not to crawl. I also tried to deactivate WordFence to make sure it wasn’t the problem. Neither resolved the issue, so I reactivated WordFence to keep my site secure.

All plug-ins are up to date.

I’ve contacted GoDaddy to ensure everything is up to date on their end. They said everything is fine and there were no updates since December.

    Hey @ivyboyter,

Looks like you are going in the right direction checking settings in WordFence. Have you checked these settings yet?

check the settings under “Firewall Rules”. Uncheck “Immediately block fake Google crawlers” if it’s checked and under “How should we treat Google’s crawlers” you can set “Anyone claiming to be google has unlimited access”.

    From:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/google-thinks-link-is-invalid/

I crawled your site and did not find any issues, but have a strong suspicion WordFence is blocking Google from crawling your site.

Best of luck, and let us know what happens after you make those suggested changes.

It’s so weird. Yes, I did make sure those items were checked. No issue there.

I visited the Google help community and someone said my site is being crawled.

Last night, my husband and I were exploring further. We noticed my preview image wasn’t showing up for Facebook. So we thought that may have been part of the issue.

I believe I resolved the preview image issues for Facebook sharing, but that DID NOT fix my issue with Google+.

So, I deactivated all my plug ins to see if there was a coding issue. That didn’t help, so I reactivated everything.

Additionally, I restored my blog to a date I knew WAS posting to Google+ without issue. That also did not resolve my problem.

I feel, at this point, there is some kind of issue with either an update in WordPress itself, or, more mysteriously with Google+. And, my past experience with Google products doesnt lead me to believe I’ll be getting much assistance from them (hope I’m wrong).

Well, there is still hope while there are things to check of the ‘try these’ list. I will list more things to check/try based on some searches, knowing you may have already done your homework and tried them (I don’t like to make assumptions).

I don’t have ideas beyond those, but if I come across anything else I will post it here.

    Hey @ivyboyter

I checked, and one of the posts was valid on Google Plus! Looks like one of the changes you made fixed the issue! Nicely done sticking it out and troubleshooting till the issue was resolved.

Do you mind sharing what fixed it, if you identified which change made the difference?

    Cheers,

Oddly enough, nothing I did changed the outcome.

So, I left t alone for a day or so while I went on with life … when I came back from an event, I just decided to try and it worked.

Someone in the Google forum said it appeared to have resolved on its own before Google responded to him.

Sadly, that’s all I got out of the whole situation.
