Invalid mailbox syntax is used in From field

I read that page prior to posting here and have tried all sorts of combinations but it still keeps warning me about syntax errors.

I also have this error. And I do not know what to do

I’m also receiving this error and have followed the instructions set out on the link above. I have a [email* your-email] tag in my main form, and my from line contains the tags [your-name] [your-email]. What am I doing wrong?

I have the exact same issue – and the content on the /invalid-mailbox-syntax/ does not provide clear instructions on how to resolve.

this seems to be a current issue — I’m having the SAME problem.
I’m using <p> To: (select from menu) <br />
[select* your recipient “person A | [email protected]” “Person B |[email protected]” etc.
in the Form section
I get syntax errors for To and From in the “Mail” tab.
tried [email* your-email], etc. and still get syntax error with validator.
the support documentation with Contact Form 7 is not helping..

Same issue with the E-mail (2) form.

has there been any resolution to this? I’m getting this error too. After forms work for ages without me changing anything, now suddenly I am getting the error message “bad syntax”

okay, my solution was that in my form, when I set it up, I didn’t add in the * to make sure that people entered in a email address.

Has this been resolved? I have the same issue and nothing is working.
