This is a follow up of the unresolved topic https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/invalid-or-duplicated-sku/page/2/#post-9862293

Whenever I try to import a variable product I get the error “Invalid or duplicated SKU.”

    Testing:
    – Delete all products completely (using Woo Product Remover)
    – Create a variable product and at least one variation, everything looks fine
    – Export the product
    – Delete all products completely (using Woo Product Remover)
    – Try to re-import the product.

Shop is single language, no WPML installed.

EDIT: After more testing, I found one detail: Importing works ok when the product has no SKU. So I can export and re-import a newly created product, as long as I do not enter an SKU for it. Whether I enter additional SKUs to the variations does not matter.

I am pretty sure now that this is a bug, but I found a workaround:
When importing, the variations must not use SKU of parent variable products, but their ID.

So in the parent product column you need to replace the SKU by something like “id:123”

Can you explain this a bit more? In the SKU column for the parent variation you enter the ID?

Hi, sorry for the delay. Yes, exactly. Have you tried it yourself? Just create a variable product, export, import -> error.

Any news on this? Have you been able to verify the issue?
