Invalid or duplicated SKU.

    Hi experts
    I am trying to enter new products into my WooCommerce site and I keep getting the error code ‘Invalid or duplicated SKU’.

    I have done this multiple times before with all our other products and I don’t get this error. I am trying to put in a variable product. I have used a unique SKU with only letters and either hyphen or underscore (I have tried both), also unique SKU for each variable item too. I have only one of these items in store therefore there are no double ups (only the variable of the colour which is the variable item I am trying to enter).

    If someone could assist any further information on what I might be doing wrong that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there,

    The invalid or duplicated SKU warning in WooCommerce usually happens when the user enters a product with the same SKU as one that is already added.

    Kindly note SKUs must be unique, be sure to check on your dashboard the setting “Woocommerce > Status > Tools” click on Delete orphaned variations.

    Hi Igor
    I have entered unique SKU’s, no duplicates so I am unsure how I am getting this error message. I tried your suggestion of deleting the orphaned variations and it came back with ‘0 orphaned variations deleted’.

    Thank for your valuable insight gentlemen. I have no idea how it fixed itself, but after being so frustrated with it I left it alone for a few days and when I come back there were no more errors. I was doing everything right so maybe it finally caught up with me.
