i also installed a new fresh wordpress test site and i get the same error, so it must be related to server php.. or apache somehow ??

i recompiled apache and works now ??

Got the same issue after an update off https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/apache2?field.series_filter=zesty

Apache2 updated from 2.4.25 to 2.4.26 and I get “Invalid post type” when listing posts. Presumably because the mod_rewrite has changed.

I’ll try a recompile.

Fixed it using a suggestion from https://stackoverflow.com/posts/44657409/revisions

Added “ProxyFCGIBackendType GENERIC” to top of etc/sites-available file

@Iprent , yes you’re correct, I figured that out later, forgot to mention this here. Unfortunately this generic backend setting broke a site which uses fairly complex rewrites, so my solution for now was just reverting to an older Apache version until that’s sorted out.
