I want to being by saying I’m far from a coding expert.

I downloaded, installed and activated the plugin, and watched the Setup and Shortcode Usage Video to better understand how to get the payment button to appear on my site (www.nextgenerationwatersummit . com / exhibitors). I was able to follow along and get the button to appear, but when I click on it, I do not get a popup window as the video shows. Instead, the checkout result page loads and I get the following error message:

    Invalid Stripe Token

I do not know what that means, nor how to fix the shortcode to have the button function properly. I look forward to any assistance the community can provide, and I will answer any questions in case I didn’t describe my situation thoroughly. Thank you.

It should read: “I want to start by saying…”

I don’t know what happened to the grammar in my 1st sentence.

Hi, check the following thread. This might help you.

Thanks for the link to the other thread.

I rechecked the keys that were sent to me, and even switched what I had in publishable and secret, but that didn’t make any difference. I have the Live Mode enabled. I also unchecked Live Mode, but that didn’t matter.

When I first added the keys, I typed pk_live_ and sk_live_ in front, just like the video showed. That didn’t make any difference, either.

I also tried unchecking the “Use New Method to Display Buttons”, but that didn’t make a difference, either.

I am not the one with the Stripe account (I’m just the webmaster), but I was able to confirm that the account holder sent me the Live keys.

    Any other suggestions?

Do you have any cache plugins installed?

    Thread Starter mcollignon

    (@mcollignon)

Here is the list of plugins that are activated (though not all are used on the site):

    Beaver Builder Booster
    Beaver Builder Plugin (Lite Version)
    Contact Widgets
    Limit Login Attempts
    Ninja Forms
    Stripe Payments

The last one is the only one active on the page in question.

Should I install a cache plugin? If so, which one would you recommend?

Hi, my question about cache was not related to whether you should install a cache plugin or not.

I just checked your site and it keeps saying that the API key is invalid.

If your host uses some sort cache system, make sure you exclude any pages with Stripe payment added. Are you using a cloud system like CDN?

I’m pretty sure GoDaddy is the host.

I’ll check with my colleague (who is much smarter at this than I) to see if we can exclude the page(s) where I plan to add the Stripe payment plugin.

Until tomorrow… have a good night.

I e-mailed [email protected], as the error my colleague was seeing read:

Stripe Checkout can’t communicate with our payment processor because the API key is invalid. Please contact the website owner or [email protected].

I e-mailed them 6 hours ago, but haven’t heard back yet.

    Okay no problem…….

Ok, I got it working and I think I figured it out.

The Stripe account holder gave me expired keys. Once we reset them, and I included sk_live_ and pk_live_ in front of the keys, it worked.

Thank you to mbrsolution for the assistance.

I am happy to know that you got it working. Well done.

    Enjoy the plugin.

I’ve noticed that this happens when you add the button to a post, adding it to a page works fine.
