We are sorry that the Yoast breadcrumb schema is getting outputted though you have disabled the breadcrumb feature in the plugin settings. An issue report is currently open with our development team; it has been selected to be fixed in a future release, but there is no estimated time available for when it will be fixed.
As a workaround, you can add custom code to remove the breadcrumb schema from your site. You can find example code in the Yoast developer docs: How to exclude the Breadcrumb schema data.
]]>The workaround is very difficult for me to follow as I am not tech-savvy. I have other websites with Yoast installed and breadcrumbs disabled and I am not facing this issue. This is my new website and I am wondering why am I facing this issue here?
Can you plz fix this ASAP?
Upon checking the provided URL in Google’s Rich Results Tool here, we do see that there is indeed an ‘Invalid URL in field “id” error. This is due to the relative URL that is being used in the ‘item’ field (such as / and /blog/).
Could you check if you have any plugin or custom code that is causing this relative URL output and if possible, use the absolute URL or full path?
Once you do so, you can test it in Google’s Rich Results Tool and check if the error doesn’t output anymore.
]]>I have a couple of other websites with the same settings and they do not have any breadcrumbs issue.
I don’t know what’s wrong here even though breadcrumbs is disabled in Yoast. Maybellyne said the issue is ongoing and development team is working on it. Is that the reason and if that is the reason why is it not affecting my other sites that has Yoast installed.
Plz let me know
Regards
Sagar
The issue or report mentioned by my colleague, Maybellyne, is specific to the breadcrumb schema still outputting even if you’ve disabled the breadcrumb feature in the Yoast SEO plugin. As of now, the only way would be to disable the breadcrumb schema by using the Schema API – https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/api/#to-add-or-remove-graph-pieces
Otherwise, if you don’t want to remove the schema data, we reviewed the output currently and we do see that you are getting the ‘invalid URL in field id’ error because it is using relative URLs (/blog/) instead of absolute URLs (the full path with https://website.com/blog/). You might want to check your setup if you have any plugins or custom code that is causing the relative URL output, and once you’ve set it to absolute URLs, this should fix that particular error.
]]>Thanks for your cooperation. My blog url is https://blackragas.com/blog/. On this page right now the SEO icon is in orange and readability is in red so when I try to type anything on this page the SEO icon turns red and readability turns green.
So I don’t know if this and the breadcrumbs issue are both related.
I have another website(https://wideclock.com) also with the same settings, plugins, and code and I don’t have any of these issues.
The SEO and Readability analysis score isn’t related to the breadcrumb schema error. This is because of the relative URLs on your specific setup on that site (which isn’t occurring on your other site), which you’d need to resolve.
We’d have to investigate this further but we are unable to do so over these public forums. You might want to consider Yoast SEO Premium so we can take a closer look at this and provide you with premium personal support.
