    Hello,

I get this error when adding the Yoast sitemap to Google Search Console. I just switched from HTTP to HTTPS, maybe that has something to do with it, because it was just working fine before.

    Also the plugin(dashboard) say

Yoast SEO has not been able to fetch your site’s indexability status from OnPage.org

    .

Can somebody help me out here? Thanks!

It’s probably connected with HTTP to HTTPS migration, but it’s very strange. It’s similar as https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/invalid-urls-in-taxonomy-sitemaps/

First of all, try to purge all caches (and transients if you can), then deactivate/activate Yoast SEO, then disable/enable XML sitemaps. It should force refresh of all sitemaps. It’s weird because pages contain absolute URLs. I think that’s only trouble with caching.

mmm thats what my friend also told me. I emptied my browser cache already, but that dont help. Do i need to empty the cache of my hosting? Or download a WP plugin the empyu the cache of WP? Where do you think my cache problem resides Sasa?

It isn’t browser cache. I see same as you and googlebot. If you have installed W3TC, Supercache or something else, you need to purge cache (from WP Dashboard). Also, if you just deactivate/activate plugin, Yoast SEO should reset transients. If it doesn’t work, then try disable/enable sitemaps ( WP Dashboard -> SEO -> XML Sitemaps -> just click on disabled / save changes then enabled/save changes). It’s the simplest way.

I did purge my hosting cache, deactivated and activated Yoast and disable en enable sitemaps and tried to add the sitemap again. The problem is still there. This is my sitemap URL: https://www.stijnspreekt.nl/sitemap_index.xml

When I checked 30 minutes ago, there are missed hostname. Now, sitemaps are correct. max-age set by your hosting is 2700s. Googlebot can’t access immediately and check sitemaps. You need to wait some time (30-45 minutes), then you can try to re-submit sitemap at Google Search console. Crawl -> Sitemaps -> open sitemap_index.xml (RESUBMIT at right top corner)

Do you see difference? Please be patient and wait 15-20 minutes, then try resubmit. After re-submiting, you need to wait again. I can’t say how much, but please be patient. Any mistake will prolong waiting time.

Yes! Ok thanks man! I see my website can be indexed now, the little bal is green now. Lets wait a little. Again, thanks!

You are welcome. I’m glad to I helped you. Just advice related to moving from http to https (to avoid stress).

You need to fix mixing content. There are images and other URLs with http. You can’t do properly redirection without fixing all issues with http URLs. If you forces 301 http -> https, there are possible redirect loops. I saw that you already had troubles with CSS or whatever.

You need to add https as new website (variant) into google search console if you didn’t do it.

When you fix all issues, try to force http to https and set preferred domain.
