Apple’s Podcast Connect is throwing me this error:

Can’t parse your feed. Invalid XML: Error on line 15: Attribute “itunes” bound to namespace “https://www.w3.org/2000/xmlns/” was already specified for element “rss”.

This feed has been going strong for years and I am not sure what is causing it to crash. I’m sure it has something to do with any number of changes that I made to the website over the last several weeks, but I can’t find an answer to what would cause that particular error.

Let me know if you see something that stands out that I could fix.

Loading your feed URL in a browser displays no XML, which is unusual. Looking at the source code of the feed URL, I can see a couple blank lines in the top part of the feed that shouldn’t be there. These blank lines may be causing the issue with Apple.

If you are using either WP Engine or Bluehost to host your website, contact their customer support and ask them to disable any special caching services they may be using for WordPress RSS feeds.

If you’re not using either of those companies, make sure your core WordPress, your WordPress theme, and all plugins are up to date. This support documentation also has suggestions on how to diagnose problems like this:

I’m using Cloudways. I will take a look at the link provided and work on going through my plugins to see if they are causing an issue.

    Thank you.

    Hello @bradshoemaker),

Did you use the webpage Shawn linked to to figure out the issue>? More than likely you have a theme adding a “favicon” to your feeds. Those steps will help you diagnose it.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
