Inventory and sales Help

First, forgive me if I posted this in the wrong section. This seemed like the place to put it.

So I started a business with a friend. We dismantle cars and sell the parts locally and online. Right now online is only through ebay. We have a wordpress site that I am slowly putting together. The purpose of this post is to get pointed in the right direction or possible directions. We currently have our inventory on an excess file but we are looking to upgrade to something better. I want to make sure its compatible for what we want our website to have.
We would also like to be able to display photos with the items, if we have photos for them.

We want the customer to be able to go to a page on our website and search through our available inventory. They should be able to browse everything or apply filters for specific years, makes and models. Then select an item and be able to purchase it. It would be great if they could even select the item and send us a message about the item if they have any questions.

So with this in mind, what plugins and/or themes might someone recommend that can accomplish this?
And what database would we need to interface with this feature?
