Trying to see if a plugin like this exists, or if someone might have an idea on how to solve this problem:

Example: We have 500 units of Product A and 1000 units of Product B. These numbers can and do obviously change as our inventory fluctuates. Would it be possible to say if someone tries to add more than 50% of any individual item to their cart, in this case, say 255 units (over 250) of product A, or 600 units (over 500) of product B that it prevents them from adding to the cart and provides a message like ‘call for availability’ or something like that?

  • There are many free/paid plugins available for the product quantity systems, You can search for “Min and Max Quantity for WooCommerce”
However, your described requirement is a dynamic approach to it’s hard to say plugin will provide dynamic calculation on qty or not but you can set a static limit on product quantities from the plugin.

yeah, I’ve seen several plugins set a specific static quantity limit for carts, but you’re right, I’m looking for a dynamic solution. Is this something that would need to be a custom-coded solution? Or is it even possible?

Yes, for the dynamic calculation custom coding will be required.

    Hi @pogle,

That’s not possible out of the box with WooCommerce. That said, there should be a way to achieve that via custom coding. If you’re not comfortable with creating or editing code and require the assistance of a developer, then I would definitely recommend having a look at our WooCommerce Customizations Page – https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Cheers.
