    Hi

Question about upgrading my Square account to allow PayPal payments – will this mean at my Woocommerce checkout that they will be able to pay with PayPal (without a WordPress PayPal plugin) or card via the Square platform?

Do you happen to know what this would look like to the customer at the checkout?

    Hi @heathervh,

Could you clarify if you are looking at these options within Square and trying to understand how it works?

Look forward to your reply at your earliest.

Hi, thanks for your response. Whilst that link you posted, looks likes upgrading will allow checkout using PayPal, I am not sure how to make this work via woocommerce.

To clarify what I am trying to do – offer checkout on woocommerce with options of pay by card via square, and pay with PayPal via square – is this not possible?

The reason I want to do it via square is Square is set as my system of record and manages the stock. If I just use the normal paypal payment gateway, our stock from PayPal purchases doesn’t sync back to square – please help, I am tearing my hair out here.

    Hi there!

I understand that you would like to use PayPal as part of Square, so you can have a single inventory and avoid issues with multiple inventories.

After checking further, I see that Square indeed seems to have this feature natively, but it’s not something that we have as part of the WooCommerce extension, and I’m not even sure if that’s something that they would allow on their API.

Still, I believe that you wouldn’t need to do that as you mentioned that your goal is to integrate the inventory.

WooCommerce has its own inventory and the Square extension would allow to get the WooCommerce products inventory and integrate with Square.

You can see more about that here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/#section-7

In this case, you would be able to manage fully from WooCommerce and all the new purchases on PayPal would update the inventory everywhere.

With that in mind, I would recommend you to add PayPal Payments as an independent plugin.

Feel free to get back to us anytime if you need further help!
