Inventory with variations

    Hello,

    I have not yet installed Jigoshop but am considering it but I need inventory control from a common pool.

    Product is a bulk item that is sold by wieght but discrete packages. So inventory is to bulk quanity available but variations are discrete wieghts.

    Eg Wheat. Bulk measurement is pounds.
    Variations are 1 lb, 5 lb, 50 lb.

    Is it possible for Jigoshop to manage this type of inventory and if so how?

    Using the current inventory management system it is only possible to manage items by quantity. If you would like to achieve the above, you would need to separate the product into discrete quantities (eg. 350 of 1lb, 100 of 5lb), that would be separate from each other. This would be easy using an attribute for variations and their values.
    In the case your smaller packages would run out of stock, you would need to manually update the quantities to match your actual stock amount.
