Invoice Number not being generated

Hello,
I noticed that the invoice number stopped being generated on the latest orders (Processing Status).
When I click on print invoice, I get this message:
Invoice number has not been generated yet. Do you want to manually generate one ?
When I click yes, the invoice number shows up.
Any help would be appreciated.
