IP-Based Location

  • Hey we are using your plugin on our site. It works great when people click YES to the geolocation prompt, but when they click NO, I expect it to still use their IP to guess where they are. Why is it only loading a default address?

    I’m sorry but that is not how it works. If the user clicks NO to the geolocation prompt, the implications of that is that they don’t allow the plug-in to use any of their data, including the IP address, to track their location. Otherwise we would be violating the user input on that prompt.

    Instead, the plug-in in one of its settings has a default “start point” that acts as a fallback point to center the map in case the user does not consent their location to be tracked by the browser.
