• Hi,

We’re unable to access the log in window to allow us to access the back end of the website. Crucially, our paying members of our online program also cannot log in. This has come up just today. We’ve tried logging in on 2 different laptops and the Ipad using Chrome and Safari but nothing worked.

When our web developer disabled IP Geo Block, everything went normal again.

Can you help us with this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @ninavitales,

    Sorry about your bad experience.

I think you adopt WPBruiser plugin which may be related to login form. It requests ajax to your /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php using XMLHttpRequest object.

Unfortunately, IPGB might block this request when you enable “Prevent Zero-day Exploit” at “Admin ajax/post” in “Back-end target settings” section.

So please try to add gdbcRetrieveToken into the text field of “Exceptions” at “Admin ajax/post” like the following:

    Exceptions at Admin ajax/post

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Hi,

I confirmed the solution of previous thread resolves the issue. Even when you put gdbcRetrieveToken into “Exception” at “Admin ajax/post”, country blocking against the login form still works fine!

    Hi @tokkonopapa

Sorry but I seem to have the same issue again on my laptop. I cannot access the log in window to gain access to the back end of the site. One second it was working fine and I am in the back end of the site, and the next, when I tried to set up a new Page on the site, I received the same error message I received before. I tried it on the Ipad and the Iphones, and the same thing happened. I can’t even get to the log in window to put in my log in details.

But when we try on my friend’s laptop, he has no issues accessing the log in window and logging in. We are using the same browser on both laptops – Google Chrome.

It’s truly frustrating and I don’t understand how this has been happening intermittently. Are you able to shed any light on this? Thank you.

    Hi @ninavitales,

    Sorry your bad experience again.

    At first:

IP Geo Block conflict with other plugins?

Yes, it could be, because of a bunch of plugins and themes.

It’s truly frustrating and I don’t understand how this has been happening intermittently.

I just have your site URL. Consequently I can hardly estimate the cause. So please Include as Much Information as Possible.

I’d like to confirm one by one.

I received the same error message I received before.

If the message was like this:

while you’re logged-in, please click “Dashboard” and go to the settings page of IP Geo Block, then push “Show information” button at the bottom of “Plugin settings” section. You’ll see like this:

So please let me know “Error logs” in the lower part of the information.

    Or if the message was:

then please follow the FAQ or Emergent Functionality to login again. Then check out “Your IP address / Country”, and also the “Show information“.

But when we try on my friend’s laptop, he has no issues accessing the log in window and logging in. We are using the same browser on both laptops – Google Chrome.

I think the difference is the IP address. If so, sometimes the database confused the country code like this:

In this case, please try “Scan country code” at the top of the “Validation rule settings” section.

One second it was working fine and I am in the back end of the site, and the next, when I tried to set up a new Page on the site, I received the same error message I received before.

What action did you do as “set up a new Page”. Was it “Post” –> “Add New” from the dashboard menu? In this case, you can also find the reason in “Show information” button at “Debug information” in “Plugin settings” section.

I’m sorry again, but once a conflicting happens, I need your help to solve it. And more specific information leads to faster solution.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Hi,

There’s an additional possibility. Do you adopt some kind of caching system?

    Thanks.
