IP Location Support: Better off without it?

    I noticed that when I had IP Location Support checked ON, the Spammer Log panel took a long time to load, and quite possibly slowed down my whole site? (Every time I went to look at that panel, coincidentally my site just went MIA for me!) Anyway, turning off IP Location Support did the trick for speeding up that.

    I would love it if there were a way to just clear the log, or if there already is a button that deletes the log, I don’t see it handy. Maybe you could keep the stats, just clear the log? The graphs are pretty useful for convincing the site owner that there are a lot of spammers out there.

    If you go to Settings >Zero Spam and then above the All Time graph, there’s a button to Reset Log.

    The plugin won’t slow down your site, it’s a heavy load just on that one admin page when IP Location Support is enabled in order to do the IP to location lookup. Now, if you’ve got a weak server of have you timeouts set too low, then if may cause issues. That’s why we’ve given then option to disable it.
