• Have been looking for a good photo gallery plugin that works with a PC and iOS. Most work I do is on a PC but in travels use an iPad to build galleries and, ideally, albums. Not just for building a page/post but needs to support display on both a PC and iOS.

Having problems finding a good plugin for working with galleries for posts/pages. Please do not mention NextGEN as it does not support iOS – their comment not mine. Photo Gallery has problems displaying column headers vertically and not horizontally on an iPad – cannot get an answer from Photo Gallery forum on this issue. Envira looks good but has no free version – four different prices and you need to renew each year to get support. Platinum is $249 and you do get lifetime support.

I am not a fulltime developer but just setting up my own site.

So if anyone has a suggestion please let me know – my thanks – Ken

@kencooperjr – The current issue with NextGEN Gallery and iOS is the uploading of images. Issues such as drag-and-drop are simply mobile device issues in general and not specifically a NextGEN Gallery problem. Granted this does make for some inconveniences when trying to manage the site via a mobile device but otherwise NextGEN Gallery works fine under iOS.

@kencooperjr – Have considered using the native WP galleries and the gallery display option with JetPack? Uploads/manages/displays all very well with iOS.

    And it is free.

Marc – thanks but I use www.ads-software.com and have never used wordpress.com. Yes, it is a plugin on my site but I have never ‘turned it on’ as I have to create a wordpress.com account?

What is the impact on my www.ads-software.com site when I do this?

    Thanks – Ken

There is no impact at all to your self-hosted WordPress site, other than you can use many of the nice JetPack options. You do not even need a WordPress.com blog/site, URL etc, just sign-up for a WordPress.com username and password. –
