When using the footnotes on the ipad there’s a glitch.

Clicking on a number in the article brings up the box with the reference, but you cannot get rid of the box by clicking elsewhere on the screen. Clicking the number again takes you to the references at the bottom – if you scroll up, the box is still there.

The only way to get rid of the box is to click the ‘return arrow’ in the reference section. It would be better on the ipad to simply have them touch the area outside the box for it to disappear and allow the reading of the article to carry on.

    Thanks

  • I can confirm this. It’s very clumsy on the iPad.

Sometimes I manage to get rid of the box by tapping outside, maybe 1 out of 10 taps (and tapping around like nuts ;-).

Yes, it’s an annoying problem because a lot of people will be reading on ipads and iphones.

Waiting for the plugin author to maybe offer a way around this.

Just pushed version 1.0.8 that should fix the functionality on touch devices. Let me know if that solves your issues.

For me it works perfectly now. It’s also cool that a second tap takes me to the “real” footnote.

    Thanks for the fix!
